Social Media Worshop at Smurfit
We were honoured to recently be asked to run a social media workshop over a number of sessions at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, Ireland’s leading business school and research centre offering a world-class MBA, leading PhD programme, a wide range of specialist Masters for both business and non-business graduates as well as Executive Development courses.
Dillon, a former student of Smurfit Business School, delivered these workshops on behalf of The Link Marketing to the Marketing Practice students in Smurfit. The Masters in Marketing Practice is structured like a genuine working day, with defined business hours, genuine commercial projects for external corporate clients and a real office set-up at UCD
Covered off in these sessions we looked at analysing the digital landscape, setting realistic targets, producing great organic content, advertising, scheduling content and we gave our top tips for each social media channel. We used real life examples from our experience to bring the theory to life for the students.
The workshops were ran to give the students the tools to effectively manage social media accounts for businesses which is part of the assessment for their degree.
Speaking on the workshops, Dillon said “It was a really enjoyable experience talking about a subject that I am so passionate about. The Marketing Practice students were a pleasure to deal with throughout and asked some thought provoking questions that really helped to add to the learning environment.”
Previously we have been asked to speak by the FAI on the topic of social media, contribute to an evening surrounding social media ran by Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor and been interviewed for a podcast on sports engagement and social media.
Recently we have also been providing social media training for two different businesses. We have been visiting them onsite and giving them training on how to get the most out of their social media activity with a small amount of effort. This has been both providing training to a group but also has involved one-to-one coaching on all aspects of social media.
