10 Hen Party Ideas That Won’t Make Your Guests HATE You
We’ve all been to those run-of-the-mill hen parties where you’re left thinking ‘What the hell is happening?’ after you’re forced to take part in some bizarre activities.
Hen parties should be about three things – 1. having fun, 2. getting drunk (responsibly), and 3. the bride having the best time possible on her last night as a free woman.
Somewhere amongst the novelty sashes and rigorous activity schedules, the ‘having fun’ part of the hen party can tend to get lost.
How do you ensure everyone is having a good time at a hen? By organising an event that is so spectacular and enjoyable, they literally have no other choice.
If you’re tired of donning a pair of bunny ears and ‘L’ plates, learning naff dance routines or going orienteering, we have some other options you might find more enticing…
We’ve put together a few ideas that aren’t your typical hen party activities that may be just what you’re after if you’re looking to do things a little differently!
1. Gin school
Gin is the drink of the moment for a lot of people, and what better way to kick of your hen party festivities by gathering your gals together to learn how to make gin-based drinks!
Ireland’s first gin school is located in Listoke Distillery in Drogheda, and offers brides-to-be and their pals the perfect way to spend a boozy afternoon having a laugh.

‘Glamping’ is the perfect way to combine an adventure-filled day with some pampering, and Teapot Lane Glamping in Leitrim is just the place to do it.
They provide a selection of different packages, which can include a Vintage Tea Party, Surfing lessons or your own mini festival.
3. Pod experience
If Glamping isn’t you’re thing, you could check out ‘pod living’ with your hen party group instead.

4. Flower crown workshop

The workshop costs €35 per person, and for hen parties bigger than 15 people, the bride goes free.
5. Roller Disco

For an extra bit of fun, why not have a competition amongst the hens to see who will be crowned ‘best dressed’ at your own version of Ladies’ Day.
9. Drag Show

Another fun activity you can do together as a group is going to get pampered at a nail bar.
Instead of an orienteering trip around a forest, you can put your feet up and relax and get your claws looking fierce at the same time.
Chipped Nail bar in Powerscourt Townhouse Centre in Dublin is the perfect place for you and your hens to get pampered while enjoying some prosecco.
If the wedding isn’t far away, it can also double-up as an opportunity for your guests to get their nails prepped for the big day itself.
